Breaking news: CM Punjab Orders Closure of Schools, Colleges & Universities Till 31 March 2026 due to the fuel adjust decision. The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has announced that all schools, colleges, and universities across Punjab will remain closed from 10 March to 31 March 2026. This decision has been taken due to the current situation related to the ongoing tensions and conflict in the Middle East.

According to the provincial government, the step has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and educational staff. During this period, all public and private educational institutions across Punjab will suspend regular on-campus classes. However, the government has clearly stated that all examinations will be conducted according to the previously announced schedule. Students who are scheduled to appear in board or university exams will still take their exams on the same dates.
وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز شریف نے خطے میں جنگی صورتحال اور معاشی دباؤ کے پیش نظر کئی ہنگامی اقدامات کا اعلان کیا ہے۔ اس فیصلے کے تحت پنجاب بھر میں سکول، کالج اور یونیورسٹیاں 10 مارچ سے 31 مارچ 2026 تک بند رہیں گی۔ تاہم امتحانات اپنے طے شدہ شیڈول کے مطابق ہی ہوں گے اور تعلیمی اداروں کو آن لائن کلاسز لینے کی اجازت دی گئی ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ حکومت نے صوبائی وزراء کے سرکاری پیٹرول کی سہولت بند کر دی ہے، سرکاری گاڑیوں کے پیٹرول اور ڈیزل الاؤنس میں 50 فیصد کمی کر دی گئی ہے اور پروٹوکول کی اضافی گاڑیوں پر پابندی لگا دی گئی ہے۔ سرکاری دفاتر میں گھر سے کام (ورک فرام ہوم) کی پالیسی بھی نافذ کی گئی ہے اور عوام کو غیر ضروری خریداری اور لیٹ نائٹ شاپنگ سے گریز کرنے کی ہدایت دی گئی ہے۔

To avoid disruption in education, schools, colleges, and universities are allowed to arrange online classes during the closure period. Educational institutions may continue teaching through virtual learning platforms so that students can keep up with their studies.
The Punjab government has advised students and parents to stay in contact with their respective institutions for updates regarding online classes, exams, and further announcements. If the situation changes, the government will issue new instructions accordingly.
